The rough coat, are the second most common breed. They make wonderful pets for children and are easy to breed and show. They have two or more swirls in their coats and sometimes look like they've had a bad hair day if it grows to long. Their hair is normally fairly short and does not need grooming

Here are my pedigree rough coat cavies. I will update this page when I get new ones.

Here is Ruffles. Ruffles is our favourite guinea pig. He likes jaffas and ice blocks. He is very docile and is very dumb which makes him an excellent show guinea pig because he doesn't move much or at all. Once my sister left him outside for about five minutes and when she came out to get him he was in the same place as she left him.

This is Imagine. She is supposed to be a rough coat but her face isn't like other rough coats, her swirls are more like crests, she only has two swirls and she is a lot smaller than other guinea pigs her age. She is very inquisitive and lively and is always fat.

This is Suzie. She is the cutest in our region. I think it?s because of her tail hair. When we put he in shows we curl her tail hair into a single curl and then tie a ribbon to it. If you want to see her certificates go to my Prize winners page. She is our most loved guinea pig by other people and is very popular with little kids.

This is the big one. Muffy is our biggest guinea pig and is the third oldest. Ruffles is her father and the late Lilly is her mother. She is our model guinea pig. That means we put most of our costumes on her. She is always fat and her head is enormous. She is a mother of three litters. She is our dominant female and sprays the males if they try to mate with her. No other guinea pig does it to the boys.
